In the past, everytime I went on a trip or holiday, I always liked to document the places I visited, so I could share these tips with friends.
On this world trip, I automatically do the same. That’s why I decided to share our favorite places here on our website!
In Jaipur we ended up spending a couple of days. Enough time to discover some nice breakfast and coffee places.
If you ever visit the beautiful Pink City in Rajasthan (and you’re not necessarily looking for a typical Indian, but more western breakfast), these tips might come in useful!
1. Relaxing, coffee and chats at the Chillout rooftop
One of the first places we visited for breakfast was the rooftop of the Chillout. A very relaxed vibe, nice breakfast and good coffee! The perfect place to meet and hang out with other travelers as well.
But be aware: because of the nice music, atmosphere, and lounge beds, chances are you spend the rest of your afternoon here (tip: go for the thali for dinner then!).
2. Watching the sunrise from rooftop terrasses like Sunder or Kalyan
In the same neighborhood, close to the Chillout there are a couple of more rooftop restaurants definitely worth checking out (any time of the day).
For example Sunder or Kalyan. All have a stunning 360° view over the city!
3. More roofs with a view: opposite to the Wind Palace
If you want to have breakfast in the Old City (or any other meal :)), choose one of the rooftop restaurants across the street of the Wind Palace. Spectacular views, a lot more crowded though!
4. Cake for breakfast at Oven Bakery
If you have something to celebrate, try cake for breakfast at Oven Bakery. Lots of options!
5. If you can find it: The Little Coffee Shop
Another place with good quality cakes, coffees, and breakfast is The Little Coffee Shop, a tiny and cute cafe hidden away in an alley of one of the main roads.
6. Peace & quiet at the garden of the Chitra Hotel
You want to enjoy the green and more quiet? Visit the garden of Hotel Chitra. (Dinner time? They have all the meals they serve displayed, to make your choice easier ;)).
7. The best eggs benedict: at The Garden View
This hotel restaurant is a bit more hidden on the first floor, but here we found the perfect eggs for breakfast.. So good!
8. Breakfast, quotes and books at Housetel
At Housetel you can choose: sit inside in the reading hall, chill in the sun at the veranda, or in the garden. Other than that: choose the toilet that suits you best!
9. Club, lounge or restaurant: try Night Jar
We had dinner at the covered rooftop of Night Jar, a bigger, more lounge and club kind of restaurant. But we’re sure the hotel serves good breakfasts as well!
9. Streetfood for breakfast
And, in case you can’t choose: just go out and start the day at one of the many streetfood stalls of Jaipur! More of a surprise each time and guaranteed good food.
